love for the natural world and her fight to defend
it in this documentary-style film produced by Sense
of Wonder Productions LLC. Pre-registration

Night Movie at Brooker Creek: Living
Things We Love to Hate
Wednesday, September 23,
2009 7:00
pm – 8:00 pm
Education Services Staff, Environmental
Lands Division
The slippery slug, the supple snake, and the darting
bat make many of us squirm, shudder, and recoil
in revulsion. These are some of the organisms addressed
in Living Things We Love to Hate, a light-hearted
film produced by Rainshadow Media. No matter
how often they are present in our lives, some of
us never get over our fear of them. Yet every organism
plays a vital role in its own ecosystem. Is
it true we fear what we don’t understand?
This movie is designed to replace those fears with
ecological understanding. Join us for a
fun, up-close and scientific exploration of the
roots of our cultural attitudes. Pre-registration
is required. Admission: Free. Best
for adults and children over 8 years old.
