Ecology Camp at Weedon Island Preserve
This
summer camp is designed for children
with a strong interest in nature. Campers
explore the ecology and conservation of Florida’s
wildlife and wildlands with field biologist
and environmental educator George L. Heinrich. A
blend of classroom and field sessions
includes hands-on activities, presentations,
and exploration of the Preserve’s
rich biodiversity, where campers practice
their nature detective skills.
Dates:
July 13 – July 17, 2009
9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Who should attend?
Students entering 2nd – 6th grade
in August 2009 and are between the ages
of 7 – 11 are encouraged to attend.
Registration
Fee:
$125/camper/week
Each session is limited to 30 campers and
registration is on a first-come basis.

Herpetology Camp at Weedon Island
Preserve
This week-long
nature camp has the inquisitive child in
mind. Campers explore
the fascinating world of amphibians and reptiles
side-by-side with George Heinrich, a professional
herpetologist. Through up-close encounters
with a variety of animals such as gopher
tortoises, frogs, lizards, and snakes, campers
learn about amphibian and reptile ecology
and conservation.

July 20 – July 24, 2009
9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Who should
attend?
Students entering 2nd – 6th grade in
August 2009 and are between the ages of 7 – 11
are encouraged to attend.
