Ibis Pond Stormwater Improvements
This website has been created to keep the community informed about this project and to provide an opportunity for community input.
The project is intended to replace the existing outfall and improve water quality by providing treatment for neighborhood stormwater runoff prior to flowing into the pond and ultimately into Boca Ciega Bay. The design phase of the project is at about 30%. Survey crews will be working within the vicinity of the pond and the adjacent neighborhood beginning in May/June 2019. The project is programmed in the Pinellas County Capital Improvement Program and is currently funded for construction beginning in 2020. These improvements are being funded by the Penny for Pinellas program.
This project is being administered by the Pinellas County Public Works Department.

Pinellas County is hosting an open house event on Monday, June 10, 2019 to provide information regarding the planned stormwater improvements at Ibis Pond, east of the intersection of Sea Gull Ln. S. and Flamingo Way S., outlined in orange on the map below. County and engineering consultant representatives will be available to answer questions.
The intent of the open house is to make residents aware of the planned improvements at Ibis Pond and obtain feedback. If you are unable to attend the open house, please submit the online comment form indicating whether you would be willing to have a shallow bio-swale in the right-of-way in front of your home (could be vegetated either with mow-able ground cover or bushes/wildflowers).
