Project Overview
Pinellas County Public Works, through the county's Capital Improvement Program, is making roadway improvements on Haines Road N., from 60th Avenue N. to U.S. Highway 19 in St. Petersburg. The project includes the reconstruction of the existing two-lane rural road into a two-lane urban road with a curb and gutter as well as storm drainage improvements and the addition of bicycle lanes and ADA-compliant sidewalks. The project will enhance pedestrian and bicyclist safety, and provide the efficient flow of motorist on the corridor.
Intersection improvements will also be made on Haines Road N., including the construction of a new signalized mast arm at the three-legged intersection of 62nd Avenue N. and 31st Street N., and the installation of pedestrian detection and crossing signals. The proposed mast arm will withstand wind speeds up to 150 mph, providing a robust infrastructure during a storm or high wind events. The mast arm will improve safety and also provide a clean aesthetic look.

This project is funded through the Penny for Pinellas program, the county's local infrastructure sales tax.
