Ibis Pond Stormwater Improvements

Project Location
Pelican Creek Subdivision at the northwest corner of Gulfport Boulevard and 64th Street South in Saint Petersburg.
Project Overview
The project is intended to replace the existing outfall for Ibis Pond and improve water quality by providing treatment for neighborhood stormwater runoff prior to flowing into the pond and ultimately into Boca Ciega Bay. In addition to replacement of the existing pond outfall, the project will include construction of bioswales in front of participating property owners for stormwater conveyance and treatment, along with a nutrient-removing baffle box at the pond inlet and a littoral shelf.
Project Schedule
- Design Start: July 2019
- Design End: Fall 2020
- Construction Start: Early 2021
- Construction End: Spring 2022
This project is funded through the Penny for Pinellas program.
